Mitos Village

Superb accommodation in a great location 5 min stroll to the village square of Old Hersonissos and another 15/20 to Piskopiano and Koutouloufari. The welcome from Thanos and his staff was exceptional as was the large air conditioned apartment which included lovely extra touches like complimentary wine and fruit basket, robes and slippers, pool towels and good quality toiletries and amenities. Great pool area and bar and the breakfast was excellent - everything fresh and great quality in a lovely outdoor terrace by the pool. The whole place is immaculate and the level of cleaning is exceptional. Staff can’t do enough for you and we got excellent advice and help from Thanos about local places to visit, eat, hire car, taxis etc. All in all exceptional quality at a great price. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

I was with my son for a week and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Thanos (owner), his family and also the cleaning team, were the nicest, warmest people ever. They were happy to help with everything we needed and very respectful in every way. My son was super happy about the facility, especially about the pool and gym. Thanos takes care of every detail, allowing guests to rest and relax during their stay. Mitos Village is near to old Hersonissos (with great taverns and local shops), located in a very quiet area. Hotel is spotless, breakfast delicious, various and for sure you won’t complain. I wish them the best and hope we will visit them soon.

Scandalous! The director/ waiter/ receptionist is rude. The hospitality is not at all what I expected. There was only one small hand towel and when I asked about it, with a snark Thanos responded to me that is what they provide. The maids offered big towels whenever I requested it to them. I was not given a beach towel like to the other guests, when requesting it the owner told me I had to wait until the next day without further explanation. Also when they did not clean after the first night I brought it up to the kitchen helper when Thanos was not on the premises, she ensured that it would be done after finishing the rooms for arriving guests. Later Thanos informed me that it would not be done daily. I was shocked. They cleaned twice in the entire month I had a reservation for, additionally I changed twice to a different room, one time there was 13 days in between cleanings, completely unacceptable. It was accumulating dust. He again responded he had no time when I confronted him about that. He later justified with that I had been gone for some days I paid for the room and therefore even if I am gone several nights in a row I want to return to a clean room with clean sheets and towels, not even the trash was taken out, and he dismissed my concerns when I insisted several days in a row to clean, he said that there were a lot of new guests and more work but that’s not my problem. When I was told me breakfast wasn’t included and it actually is a bed and breakfast accommodation. The breakfast was very basic, they heat up frozen precooked foods including breads, only the eggs and watermelon were fresh, no good options for healthy food. The location is pretty decent and the reception area is nicely renovated. The rooms still need to be remodeled. The rooms are very basic, no window in te living room that makes it very dark. The windows have a curtain only on one side, it’s not esthetically appealing because it doesn’t cover the entire window, it’s like the other one is missing, The furniture is old and broken, particularly the closet, the slatted base, and the mattress is very old and the combination of both cause muscle tension all over the body and difficulty to sleep. The kitchenette, is not equipped appropriately, it has some of the silverware different amounts even in different rooms, but some have only 1 of each in a room designed for 3 people. Everything is the lowest quality material and old and the plates are plastic. There was not even a simple bread knife and a cutting board available. The doors open with traditional keys and the keyway needs some oil at the very least. The rooms are not soundproof at all. Especially the bathrooms are very old and in need of complete remodeling in both buildings, additionally repiping has to be done to one building, the one with the standard rooms. The toilet makes a lot of noise after flushing and wastes excessive water, the same with the shower. The water doesn’t get hot in the building with the classic rooms, I stayed in 2 different rooms there. There is a lack of staff for everything and it shows, the cleaning is not done well, upon arrival there were sticky wine stains on the floor and when inquiring The director blamed me instead of offering a solution. The music by the pool is always the same and the pool is closed from even before sunset.
