Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo

We stayed in a renovated upgraded room that was spacious, exceptionally clean, and well-stocked, with lots of storage. No bottled water, but there’s a fountain by the elevators and a small in-room pitcher. Just 2 minutes from Kyoto Station, with a great view of the trains—audible but quiet after 9 pm. The 10-story hotel has fast, secure elevators and plenty of on-site dining. Check-in was seamless and started exactly at 2 pm. Room cleaning is on-demand and very thorough. Fridge is empty but perfect for a couple days’ worth of drinks and groceries. Great first impression—this is a high-quality hotel I’ll absolutely return to.

Hotel space is bigger than what most Japanese hotels has to offer. Bed and pillows were comfy. It has all the amenities you need inside the room such as hairdryer, iron, coffee, tea, toiletries, etc. They also have a free distilled water where you can fill up your water bottles everyday. Very very close proximity to the Kyoto station so, very convenient when traveling. Restaurants are everywhere as well. The mall is also right beside the hotel. Highly recommended! Will definitely stay here again.

This was my second time staying here ( last time was in 2012). It is by no means an upscale place, but the rooms are big enough and the amenities are what one can expect. Service (both in the lobby and the restaurants) was great. The big plus is the location right outside of Kyoto station, at are very reasonable price. For the breakfast buffet at the "Le Plaisir", I would have wished for a wider variety of breakfast items. Th Sky Garden was as I had remembered it, nice vista, and bottomless drinks. The food there was not as good as 13 years ago.
