Staying in the area. We were recommended to go to MO & Rose for dinner. The warmest welcome and big smiles which was great. The place looks amazing and beautifully set out. The menu looked incredible with lots to choose from. Unfortunately my ostrich fillet was very tough and sinewy and the rest of the food very mediocre for the price charged. Nice and very reasonable selection of wines. All in all we had an okay evening....

We booked a dinner which sadly was not recorded, but fortunately we were able to be seated regardless. The service was good and the food mediocre. Beautiful surrounding garden.

This is an absolutely gorgeous spot with well-furnished rooms and a beautiful garden and pool. Unfortunately, our otherwise lovely time here was marred by an incident with the gate. Our 13 person party returned at 22h00 from having eaten out to a locked gate. This would not normally be an issue, but there was nobody available to assist us, and all attempts to phone the venue, the owners and the staff went straight to voice mail. We were 13 people in 3 cars waiting outside in the street. After many fruitless attempts to get hold of someone (including jumping the wall and searching inside for a member of staff) we eventually had to lift the gate off it's rails just so we could come inside. Forrunatwly we had a power lifting athlete in our group, but this was still a task that needed three people to accomplish. Aside from the fact that this is an obvious security issue, this would create massive problems if there was even a minor medical emergency on the property at night. Not only this, but four of our group had to leave early (06h00) to catch a flight and we had to lift the gate off the rails again because there were STILL no staff available to help us. When the staff finally did arrive, we complained and they were apologetic. They explained that someone was supposed to give us a gate code so that we could enter and exit when staff are not on the premises. That would have been great to know when we checked in. 13 people in 7 separate rooms checked in and not one of us was given this information. The information brochure does not include this information. The staff member who waved goodbye and watched all 13 of us get into our cars and leave to go to the restaurant did not think to give us this information. It is really a shame that an otherwise lovely place has this issue.
