Moana Surfrider A Westin Resort & Spa Waikiki Beach

The hotel is very well placed on the beach and has one of the best beach bars in my opinions. The views are in parallel and some of the renovated rooms are world class. The staff is always welcoming and go over and beyond. Can’t wait to be back here!

The hotel itself is beautiful and the immediate beach access is a definite plus. Also, the staff is all very friendly and quick to make sure you have everything you need. They even sent a complimentary bottle of champagne to our room for my birthday. The downsides are the noise - if you stay in the main building in the first 2 floors, it will be noisy until all hours of the night. Between the wine bar with the piano player in the lobby by the stairs and the live musician at the Beach Bar… the music and chatter doesn’t stop until well into the night. The only other downside was the remodel happening during our stay. Large amounts of the lobby were unavailable during our stay and on the last day, we kept being herded around all day so the photographers could take pictures. It seemed like no matter where you went, at some point, they needed you to move. If you’re looking for a comfortable hotel with a high end staff that’s close to everything, this is your place. If you’re looking for something a little more low-key and intimate, I would look elsewhere.

The hotel is conveniently located in a popular tourist area. There’s direct beach access. Upon checking in, you’re gifted with a fresh lei and two coupons for a complimentary catamaran ride. The rooms that my friends and I stayed in were a bit outdated, but otherwise clean and comfortable. I enjoyed a massage at the spa. The spa was smaller than expected for such a large property. It felt a bit crowded and not as tranquil as I’m used to for a spa. The butterfly tea experience was lovely! I don’t recall anything spectacular about the on-property food and drinks. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay.
