I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience with the front desk staff. When I approached the receptionist to report issues with the Wi-Fi and telephone connectivity in my room, I expected a helpful response. Instead, I was met with a rude and unprofessional attitude. Rather than trying to understand the problem or offer any assistance, she spoke to me dismissively and made me feel as though I was a bother. I believe that good customer service is a basic expectation, especially when staying at a hotel. It's unfortunate because the hotel itself has potential, but this kind of behavior from the staff makes it hard to recommend. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving guest relations and staff training.
One night in Hell There is a outdoor concert arena across the street and absolutely zero sound isolation, the bed is like sleeping on the concrete floor- rock hard. Has to borrow WiFi for the neighbors because the box in the room didn’t even have a power cord. The soaps was of unknown origins as the only text was a hotel logo. Do not recommend - this hotel is in great need of a fully refurbishment Europeans - stay clear of this place please.
ABSOLUTELY APPALLING – A DANGEROUS, FILTHY, ZERO-STAR TRAP! My stay at the so-called "Modern Living Hotel" was not just disappointing; it was a horrifying ordeal that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. To call this a 4-star hotel is a blatant, disgusting lie. This establishment is a dangerous, filthy trap that deserves nothing less than negative five stars, if that were possible. It's a health and safety hazard masquerading as accommodation. From the moment I stepped into what was supposed to be my room, I was met with utter squalor. The toilet was not just dirty; it was encrusted with grime and stains, a clear sign of deep-seated neglect. But the absolute worst was the mattress – a biohazard of massive, repulsive stains that made me question every standard of hygiene this place supposedly adheres to. The very thought of sleeping on it was sickening. The nightmare escalated quickly. There was a relentless, active water leak from the ceiling that dripped continuously, turning a portion of the floor into a slippery, unsanitary mess. Despite immediate complaints, the hotel staff did NOTHING. Their utter indifference was infuriating. As if that wasn't enough, the constant, ominous electrical buzzing from the ceiling became unbearable. It wasn't just annoying; it felt genuinely hazardous, a ticking time bomb. I was forced to abandon my booking and flee for my safety and sanity. And let's talk about Agoda's complicity. Their complete failure to intervene or offer any meaningful support during this horrific experience is beyond unacceptable. They are actively facilitating and profiting from the misery inflicted by hotels like this. Their platform should not list such dangerous establishments, especially if they are unwilling to stand by their customers when basic human decency and safety are compromised. It's evident they are simply "helping" these horrendous places continue to operate, especially during peak season, at the expense of unsuspecting travelers. Beyond the immediate dangers, the sheer dilapidation was staggering: * The smoke detector was caked in layers of dust and grime, clearly non-functional. * The ceilings were crumbling with severe water damage and patched-up attempts that barely concealed the decay. * The bed base was literally falling apart. * Worrying cracks in the door frame near the hinges spoke volumes about the structural integrity and security, or lack thereof. * Every surface, from the curtains to the walls, screamed neglect and a profound lack of care. This is not a hotel; it's a derelict building that needs to be condemned, not rented out to unsuspecting guests. The "prime location" is irrelevant when your health and safety are at risk. Do NOT waste your money, your time, or your well-being on this absolute disgrace. There are countless other hotels in Phuket; choose ANY of them over this nightmare.
