Absolutely everything about Monastero di Cortona deserves more than five stars — it is truly an oasis within an oasis. From the moment we arrived, we felt transported to a serene world of elegance and warmth. A huge part of this incredible experience was thanks to Alice, Claudio, and Nicole. They all were beyond professional and kind, making us feel genuinely cared for at every step. Their thoughtful attention and gracious demeanor made us feel right at home, and she went above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless. The spa is a true sanctuary. I had the California massage by Angela, and it was one of the most relaxing, rejuvenating treatments I’ve ever experienced — every detail was perfect, from the tranquil ambiance to the expert touch. You can feel the deep care and passion behind every element of the wellness program. Our room was absolutely impeccable: beautifully appointed, immaculately clean, and so comfortable it felt like a private retreat. Every detail, from the luxurious linens to the serene decor, radiated understated luxury. Monastero di Cortona is a rare gem that blends history, sophistication, and heartfelt hospitality in a way that few places can. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of our next visit. If you are looking for an unforgettable stay in Cortona, look no further — this is it.

We had an incredible stay, the room was very comfortable and the staff thought of every touch, from a warm welcome and welcome drink to turn down service in the evening. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming and you can feel they do their job with passion! With just 36 rooms, the experience is very personalized and intimate. The hotel was nearly fully booked in our stay, but all of the spaces were quite empty and private so we really enjoyed that. The spa was incredible, but what really wowed us was the restaurant. We did the “Tuscan Flavors” tasting menu and were seriously wowed…. Every single dish was so well thought, and the wines that accompanied were all delicious. The dining room is small, and intimate, but very welcoming and romantic, not at all cold and formal like some other fine dining experiences we have had. We wouldn’t be surprised if the restaurant earns Michelin recognition in the next few years, it totally deserves it!

My husband and I recently stayed for three nights at this elegant hotel in the heart of Cortona, and our only regret is not booking our stay for longer! From the moment of our arrival, the hotel staff was so attentive, kind, and helpful. Driving into Cortona for the first time is not the most straightforward, and we admittedly found ourselves a little flustered and lost. Without hesitation, the staff stayed on the phone with us and even took the extra step of meeting us outside. After that, from the moment we stepped into the hotel we were reassured that it was time to relax. We were presented with cool hand towels and juices as we checked in, which was a lovely touch after our car ride from Florence! The lobby is stunning, as are the rooms. For our first night, we were in a standard room as the junior suite was unavailable. The team kindly moved our luggage while we were out to the junior suite. The standard room was beautiful, and the junior suite was even more impressive with a gorgeous chandelier. All of the common areas and the room were pristine from a cleanliness perspective. One of our favorite aspects of the hotel was the unbelievable breakfast. The space where the breakfast is held is beautiful, and guests with the breakfast package are presented with a tray of pastries, cheese, fruits and meats, and are permitted to order anything they desire off of the a la carte menu. The food was all delicious, as were the cappuccinos and again, the service was top notch! We also loved the tranquil pool area and wish we had stayed for longer to have more time to enjoy it. With our limited amount of time we explored the charming center of Cortona, and some surrounding towns within Tuscany. Thank you again for the staff for making our stay so memorable! We will certainly be back in the future!
