Monastery Estate Venetian Harbor

This small, boutique hotel is conveniently located within the old town of Chania and easy walking distance of the picturesque Venetian harbour with its many shops, restaurants and fantastic views out over the old lighthouse and sea beyond. The hotel staff were excellent, able to recommend suitable places to to visit, eat and explore during our stay. Their local knowledge and assistance in arranging taxis etc was much appreciated. We reserved one of the top floor rooms with a rooftop jacuzzi which enabled views across the Chania skyline whilst enjoying the relaxing hot tub. Breakfast and evening meals are excellent with a wide range of Cretan cuisine offered. The indoor swimming pool is refreshing but be aware its not heated and, at ground temperature, may not be for everyone. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Chania.

This is a review of the restaurant only, which is fantastic. Great ambience, very polite and attentive staff, combined with well made and thought out dishes. Our experience having dinner has been excellent and I would recommend it. All at a very reasonable price as well and just a step away from the packed and noisy alleys of Chania. It is a bit of a small oasis!

If you are visiting Chania, staying in old town is exactly where you want to be for easy access to everything, and being very walkable. Monestary Estate Venetian Harbor is just that, and is minutes from the harbor and incredible restaurants and shopping in old town. The hotel is modern, but is very cool to still see original architecture on display through protected glass casing. The front desk staff and dining staff are as friendly as you can get! Breakfast every morning was included with the freshest orange juice, would recommend getting the Cretan breakfast for two every time. Mones restaurant in general is great, get the lamb if you go! We stayed in the design suite with patio and hot tub and it was perfect for what we needed for our trip in Crete. The bed is comfortable. Using the private hot tub at night is perfect for the cool Crete evenings. They have a small pool area that you can reserve for an hour that also doubles as a massage area, which I partook in and was amazing. The location of the hotel is on a small alley, is very peaceful and I felt very safe here. My husband and I stayed at this location for our honeymoon during our time in Crete and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
