Mondi Hotel Axams

This hotel is located in the outskirts of the city of Innsbruck in a small suburb called Axams. The property lies in the lap of the Austrian Alps and the scenery around is spectacular! More than the hotel, I loved the view that this hotel offers! This is a very beautiful 4-star property that used to be an old building, which has now been converted into a heritage hotel. The rooms are spacious but features an worn-out look - it adds up to the ascetic, however. An interesting thing about the rooms is that it has a fully equipped kitchen set with induction cooktop, kitchen sink, utensils and cutlery. However, just like most other hotels in Europe, the bed is very tiny. The room also has a balcony that offers a stunning view of the snow-capped mountains. The breakfast spread was humongous! They had varieties of breads, croissant, cakes, pies, cheese, fruits along with tea, coffee and juices. I had a sumptuous breakfast!

Lovely stay at the MONDI, a real jewel in Axams. The hotel, spa and restaurant are all great and definitely good value for a stay. However can’t be 5 stars since if you arrive between the reception hours there is literally no one to assist you. Also worth knowing there is a bus to the nearby ski resort only once every 2h and no shuttle service

Awful hotel that truly made us wonder how on earth this could have gotten a 4 star rating. Outdated facilities, dirty rooms and bedsheets. Empty restaurant without any atmosphere and food quality that resembles McDonalds at best. Avoid at all costs!
