MONDI Resort und Chalet Oberstaufen

Excellent standard of resort. Ideal base for some great walks. Well maintained and good facilities, including very friendly restaurant with seating inside and out. No need for a car, as free bus, train travel in region with Allgau pass.

We enjoyed our stay but were extremely disappointed in the service they offered or more didn't offer at the front desk. The service during dinner at the restaurant also left a lot to wish for: the food arrived at 3 different times and drinks after the last dish. We were merely 4 people dining.

A beautifully located family hotel with many great leisure activities. The large pool and the excellent breakfast, which leaves nothing to be desired, are particularly worth mentioning. Unfortunately, the dinner did not quite meet our expectations – the price-performance ratio just didn’t feel right. However, the most disappointing aspect was the service at lunch. In an almost empty restaurant, we waited over an hour for a simple salad and a currywurst. After 50 minutes, we were told that the food would be served "soon," but it took another 20 minutes. Such a long wait is unacceptable when dining with children. When we pointed this out, it was merely acknowledged, without any real response. Finally we got offered a free bottle of table water. It’s a shame that, despite a reduced lunch/snack menu, it is not possible to serve a simple meal quickly – especially for families, this would be important. There is definitely room for improvement here.
