We recently stayed 12 nights at the Mondrian and absolutely loved it. While we had an issue with our first room, Jonathan went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after for the remainder of our stay—his service was exceptional. The facilities were outstanding, especially the restaurants which we thoroughly enjoyed. Although the washing machine in our room didn’t work, Poppy was incredibly helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. Both Jonathan and Poppy made a real difference to our experience. Their hospitality and care were a standout. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended.
We recently held a event at the Mondrian Gold Coast and were truly blown away by the experience. From start to finish, the service was exceptionally warm, attentive, and completely tailored to our needs. Every staff member was so welcoming and genuinely supportive. They really went out of their way to make sure everything was tailored perfectly to us. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. Love the neutral tones and the views overlooking Burleigh. I highly recommend it for both events and stays and without a doubt, we’ll be back for future functions. Thank you to the entire Mondrian team for making it such a memorable experience.
We recently stayed at the newly opened Mondrian Gold Coast and while the property boasts striking design and high-quality amenities, our overall experience was unfortunately overshadowed by disappointing service within the food and beverage areas. To begin with the positives; the Valet and Front Desk teams were exceptionally professional, courteous and efficient. The room itself was beautifully appointed - modern, clean and comfortable. The bed was of high quality, and the overall ambiance of the hotel was elegant and inviting. Additionally, the food was of a very high standard - well-prepared, flavoursome and attractively presented. Regrettably, the service provided by the waitstaff did not reflect the same level of excellence. Despite the venue’s clear positioning as a luxury destination, the service throughout our dining experience fell significantly short of expectations. We were left unattended for extended periods and felt repeatedly overlooked in favour of other patrons who appeared to be social media influencers. It was evident that staff were more focused on those capturing content than on guests who were actively dining and contributing to the venue financially. Although we did not voice our concerns directly at the time, it was clear from our demeanour that we were becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of service. Rather than responding with professionalism or courtesy, the staff’s attitude toward us became noticeably dismissive and, at times, overtly rude. This behaviour only compounded our disappointment and left us feeling further disregarded and unwelcome. At a venue of this calibre, one expects consistency, professionalism and above all, equitable service. While the aesthetic and culinary elements were of a high standard, the lack of basic attentiveness and courtesy from the service team left a lasting negative impression. The Mondrian Gold Coast has enormous potential and with some refinement in staff training and service culture, could very well deliver on the premium experience it promises. However, until this is addressed, we would be hesitant to return or to recommend the hotel to others seeking a genuinely high-end hospitality experience.
