Mondrian South Beach has great bay views and a lively pool, but it’s not perfect. The lobby and hallways are oddly dark, and the pool gets packed fast. Rooms are spacious but a bit worn. Also, it's a good walk to the beach—don’t expect oceanfront access. Decent if you're here to party, not so much for relaxing.
I stayed at the Mondrian and was extremely disappointed. From the start, our suite was dirty when we checked in. When I called housekeeping, I was told to go to the front desk instead. Hours later they sent someone who was late, unprofessional, and intimidating—and didn’t actually clean. We ended up going to CVS to buy our own cleaning supplies because it was pointless asking for help. The level of customer service was nonexistent. The front desk staff seemed completely out of it, and management only stepped in on the last day of our stay—far too late to fix anything. Their “solution” was to barely comp the resort fee, which did nothing to make up for the experience. To make matters worse, on our last night my friend found a cockroach in her bed. Another guest was loudly complaining about the same issue in the lobby, so clearly this wasn’t an isolated incident. Even basic areas like the pool were poorly maintained, with heaps of trash left underneath the chairs. For a hotel that markets itself as upscale, this was one of the worst stays I’ve ever had. Completely unacceptable for the price.
Our stay at the Mondrian was honestly awful from start to finish. We checked into a dirty suite and when we asked for housekeeping, we were brushed off and told to go to the front desk. Hours later someone finally came, but she was intimidating and barely touched anything. We ended up buying our own cleaning supplies just to feel comfortable. The front desk and management showed zero urgency the entire trip. It wasn’t until checkout that a manager even acknowledged the issues, and the only “compensation” we got was a small resort fee adjustment. On top of that, my friend found a cockroach in her bed on our last night—and another guest was yelling about the same thing in the lobby! The pool area was also filthy, with piles of trash under the loungers. This place is not at all what it pretends to be. Between the bugs, filth, and lack of customer service, it was a huge letdown and absolutely not worth the price.
