We had a great stay at Monte de Ribeira! We booked last minute because of a disappointing Rbnb we had originally booked, and they were extremely helpful in getting us a room… the place is super quiet and clean, service impeccable, definitely a good address to stay!

A big recommendation if you love views, personnal service and local! We have spent a full week at Monte da Ribeira in the large appt 6 with views on the hills opposite, including great breakfast with home made jams, honey etc. Hearing the birds from morning to evening, basking in the sun or seeking shadow, it's all there. Honesty bar with soda's, ice cream and even wine if you don't want to go shopping. The shower has good pressure and piping hot water if needed. Aircon in main room and sleeping room. The large bed is firm, as per usual in southern Europe but comfy. Lovely owners and staff! You need a car to travel around of course - but here are very nice hikes to be done straight out of the hotel. Would go back anytime as a base to spend time in the Algarve as everything is within 15-20mn drive (sea, mountains, Loulé etc).

It is a very nice place, with a nice pool and a great breakfast. The only reason I am dropping 2 stars is because of the front desk associate. We didn't like her approach and attitude - she was all the time repeating that they are not a hotel, correcting us, highlighting how many extra steps she has to do since our baby was older than in the booking and generally not being really supportive, which is the last thing that you want to hit after the long drive...
