Monte Maesot hotel

I stayed at this hotel recently and very disappointed with the level of flexibility and customer care. I requested a late check-out of just 3 hours due to my flight schedule. Even though the hotel was clearly not busy( a small town with few guests), the staff refused unless I paid extra. After some discussion, they finally agreed to let me check out just one hour late. However, when I checked out the next day, they tried to charge me for the extra hour- even though it had already been agreed upon. I refused to pay, as it was completely unfair and unprofessional. The receptionists were unfriendly throughout my stay. No smiles, no warmth, they were talking about me in their own language right in front of me, which was extremely disrespectful. I understand policies are in place, basic hospitality, communication, and respect were all missing here. I would not recommend this hotel to travelers who value customer service and a bit of goodwill.

The experience was terrible. We stayed for three days. When we checked out, they said that smoking in the room would be fined 5,000 baht. We said that we were two girls and did not smoke. The housekeeper did not notice it in the first two days. When we checked out, they said that we smoked. We quarreled for a long time. They said that the nanny smelled something wrong. Their attitude of apologizing to us was not good at all. I will never stay in this hotel again. I am speechless😓

Update: The hotel manager sincerely apologized for the experience, and she accommodated me back into the cafe area with doors shut and a/c on. I gave her my constructive feedback with air pollution season and impact on sensitive adults/children. I stayed at this hotel a few times in the past, and everything was fine. So i returned again, and this time, the service got worse! The hotel was not busy, and I asked for a courtesy late check out, and they tried to charge me 100 baht for an extra hour. I understand if there are fees when the hotel is busy and it is not. So, I checked out on time as they mentioned and tried to do some work in the hotel restaurant since I have a couple of hours before my next meeting. Then the staff came and told me to move to a smoking area. I tried asking her many times if it was a smoking area, and she kept saying no despite I clearly saw the cigarette butts. Not only am I allergic to smokes, but also the AQI in maesot was bad, but the hotel employees seemed not to care about the health safety of the guest(s). The only area with windows shut was the restaurant, and there were no guests there, but they refused to let me sit there and instead asked me to sit in the smoking area. The lobby doors were all wide open in this time of the year with unhealthy AQI. The hotel management needs to get educated and educate their team on site as well for the health safety and customer service. I will definitely not return to this hotel and will move our organisation business elsewhere.
