Moresco

Fourth time at Moresco Hotel, and as always… just incredible. The view of the sea and Corsica off in the distance takes your breath away. So thoughtful for the staff to have some nice plush robes and authentic Italian cookies awaiting us in our room. So nice to sleep with only the sound of the waves of the sea creating an ambient serenity. Abundant, delicious breakfast for the weary traveler. Staff always makes you feel at home.

This place definitely didn't deserve its 4-star rating. The high prices aren't justified by what you get in return. The only positive aspect was the friendly reception staff, specifically two welcoming girls. However, there were several downsides: they charge 20 EUR per day for dogs, plus an additional 40 EUR for cleaning. The breakfast was very basic, and the room didn't match the pictures advertised online. Simple amenities like a bottle opener or glasses for drinks were missing. The hotel offers access to a recreation area, but it's divided into two sections—one with free sunbeds and another costing 30 EUR per day. The free section is on a hill, making it impossible to lay your chair flat without it sliding down. If you leave your sunbed for more than an hour, the staff will remove your towels, and you might find someone else in your spot when you return. Quite inconvenient, right? Also, hotel guests aren't allowed to use the public beach for anything other than swimming, as putting towels on the sand is prohibited.

We stayed at Hotel Moresco in Italy. The location is excellent, breakfasts are tasty, and the housekeeping staff did a great job — special thanks to them. Unfortunately, there are also some serious downsides. The bathroom had mold: the walls were simply painted over, and due to the humidity the mold is coming back through. For a 4-star hotel, this is unacceptable. Upon arrival, we received only 2 bottles of water, and afterwards everything had to be purchased. There is no kettle in the room, and if you leave early in the morning, no coffee will be offered. At breakfast, the waiters’ attitude varied a lot: one day they were friendly, the next day it felt like we were bothering them. We were offered proper coffee only once during the entire stay; otherwise, you have to drink the standard buffet coffee unless you ask for something better yourself. We also experienced two unpleasant situations. On the last day, my beach towel was stolen from the hotel’s beach area (it was from a limited collection). Reception promised to check the cameras, but I never received any follow-up. Another issue happened with the payment at the beach bar: we paid in cash, but since no receipt was given, at check-out we were told to pay again for the same drinks. As there was no proof of our payment, we had no choice but to pay a second time. Overall, this hotel left us with negative impressions, and in my opinion it does not deserve its 4-star rating.
