We have stayed for five nights at Mormoraia recently and…wow. Just wow. The place and setting is stunning BUT the thing that amazed us the most was the staff. We did wine tasting with Julia and she was amazing - funny and warm! Also we did a cooking class with Alberto which was 10/10 - he was incredible, and finally all the waiting and restaurant staff were incredible - especially Enrico went above and beyond. We have not seen this level of customer service in Australia - and was truly inspired. We will be back!
A stunning Agriturismo in the heart of the San G countryside. We spent one night in San G and then one night in Mormoraia. It was lovely to see the town perched on the hillside from all over the grounds of Mormoraia. We had a suite and the deluxe suite which were both superb. Service excellent, although we did have to wait a while for evening meal - they appeared short staffed and busy - but we were not in a rush and the food was delicious. Julia on the wine tasting at lunch was v knowledgeable and it was great to just relax after bustling San G. If you want to feel in the heart of the Tuscan countryside and just relax for a while then this is the perfect place to do so. Absolutely beautiful.
The location and estate at Mormoraia are absolutely stunning – truly a 10/10 in terms of setting and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service didn’t live up to the same standard, which makes the €300 per night feel hard to justify. Our car was parked by the concierge as offered, but the next day we noticed a scratch on the bumper. We reported it, but were told the video footage didn’t show anything – although we were never shown the footage ourselves. The rooms have charm despite being quite small, but the bathroom had a sewage smell on several days. Breakfast was good, no complaints there. Lunch at the restaurant was less convincing: we waited 25–30 minutes and received a different (and overpriced) dish than advertised. Service overall felt inconsistent – not unfriendly, but lacking attention to detail. Simple improvements like poolside menus or more attentive staff could make a big difference. Strangely, even after several days, staff still asked if it was our first day. With better service, Mormoraia could be truly exceptional. As it stands, the experience didn’t fully live up to the price.
