Played golf and stayed over for bed and breakfast (for a wedding). It's a fantastic golf course, one of the best kept courses I've played on. I've certainly played on harder but it's a lovely long course (and quite forgiving). The room was really nice, if not slightly, especially the bathroom, but as a whole a very comfortable nights stay. The breakfast was self service but good quality and fresh, with servers bringing you coffee and tea.
This is a really nice spa. Everything was clean, the staff were all really friendly and professional, the lunch we were provided was really nice and it was great to have a few options. It was quite busy and we went on a Monday, but we were still able to use all the facilities easily, with enough seating for everyone. Was nice to be able to wear our robes in all areas too.
We stayed at Mottram Hall for a wedding in late July and spent three nights there. On arrival, we were impressed—the main hall is beautiful and check-in was smooth. However, the experience quickly went downhill once we got to our rooms. The room was quite shabby and clearly in need of refurbishment. There were cobwebs throughout, the radiator was extremely dirty, and there were visible urine stains on the wall beside the toilet. Additionally, there was no bottled water or mini fridge provided. Housekeeping was minimal—while the bed was made and fresh towels were provided, the bins weren’t emptied, and no fresh toilet roll, tea, or coffee supplies were left. To make matters worse, the in-room phone didn’t work, so we had to go to reception in person to request toilet roll. Even then, nothing was delivered to the room. Breakfast service was poor. While there was plenty of choice, many of the glasses were dirty, and there were long waits for tea or coffee since it wasn’t self-service. Overall, while the venue has potential and the grounds are lovely, the standard of cleanliness and service left a lot to be desired.
