Mount Stewart Hotel

*Only used the restaurant part of the business.* Definitely worth walking up the hill to enjoy a perfectly served, presented and filled sea food crepe. Prices are more than fair for the quality. The view is also incredible, which is a lovely addition to a perfect meal.

Visited here this evening and despite not having a reservation, was shown to a table almost immediately. The staff were mostly pleasant and welcoming, the only male staff member I could see gave off and aire of not wanting to be there. He was short and curt compared to the happy persona of his female colleagues. The food was ok, nothing spectacular, and I found it an odd touch that one had to self serve cutlery, salt & pepper etc from a stand in the outside dining area despite there being an abundance of staff. The outstanding element of my visit was the stunning views across the Irish Sea which was flat calm. The ensuing sunset was spectacular. Average fayre but memorable views and worth it for the location alone.

Ordered a couple of burgers 19 quid, came with a single tiny bit of lettuce, no salad, no sauce, no cheese, bun not even toasted. Looked like something you’d get from a school cafeteria. The patty was good though 👍 Was very disappointed with it as an Australian you convert the price and that’s 40 aud for a single burger, if anyone says Australia is more expensive show them how much a burger costs here for what you get 🤣 The view was lovely, great spot, nice and sunny. In law said the lasagna was lovely.
