The staff here are what makes the stay great. Juan Carlos greeted us every day offering fantastic advice and local recommendations. Diego Alexander at the Tipsy Bird played our favorite music and showed us a fun time with generous drinks. Migel at the pool responded quickly with ice and first aid when our friend's toddler bumped his head. The young man at the cafe was also very friendly and sweet about my poor Spanish! Our group also had great spa treatments. The building and rooms are in need of update and repair. The restaurant food is decent, but not great , which is what I expect from hotel food/free breakfast. As for the other reviews regarding speaking English - my very limited Spanish got me by just fine, and we could always find someone who spoke English for more complicated questions. Manage your expectations about the building, but I would stay again based on the staff alone!

[Updated: the reply from the hotel is bullshit. They even never replied to my complaint directly. A typical advertisement-driven hotel trapping tourist. Stay away from such poorly managed hotel.] - Booked from TripAdvisor but this guy told us the type of room was unavailable and offer “free downgrade” or "paid upgrade". What a shameful service! Dishonest business with poorest service. - Unprofessional front desk service provided by "Harold" made the Hotel as worse as no star. - The hotel manager is as unprofessional as the front desk person. When I asked to talk to a manager about this issue in the morning, they simply didn’t care. - NO English document provided during check-in. Is this for tourists? Any reliable hotel should NOT ask customers to sign a *Spanish ONLY* document. Avoid this hotel, if you don’t really want to be treated as stupid tourist here.
