Moxy NYC East Village

Carmen was amazing! I arrived at 9:30pm and had made my reservation through booking.com and apparently the hotel was fully booked but booking.com still made the reservation. So after being told there was no room for me and booking.com would reach out (I’m 8 months pregnant) Carmen called all guests that hadn’t yet checked in and found whose flight was cancelled. Carmen then found me and informed me she now had a room for me. And it was a larger room which she she honored my rate for the smaller room. I would hands down stay here again except I would book directly through the hotel and NEVER use booking.com again.

Hotel was super comfortable. My room was perfect for my trip; super cozy bed, tv was easy to use and connect to, and had everything necessary to get unpacked if you chose to. The window treatments included a blackout blind as well as curtains. Staff did not inform me at the front desk that the room card was needed for every interaction with the elevator and section that was not the lobby. This may be a New York thing, but as this was my first time I was totally confused and had to ask for assistance when trying to come down from my room. The information pamphlet mentioned a machine for small toiletries you may have forgotten would be located next to the gym… much time was wasted looking for this machine as I discovered a need for tweezers but had forgotten to pack those 🤦‍♀️ The air conditioning in my room must not have been cooling properly as the room was set to 64° and it was still very hot in my room. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there. It was in close distance of the subway. The neighborhood was pretty quiet. The restaurant on the roof was so fun and had delicious food. I will probably stay at another Moxy in the future.

Cannot stress how excellent of a location this was. We walked everywhere from this location, only took the train a handful of times. Close to great restaurants, parks, comedy cellar, etc. Walked all the way to Brooklyn and back. This was everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel in Manhattan. The rooms were small and cozy, but comfortable enough and sufficient as we did not spend much time in the hotel. The bathroom sink is oddly outside of the bathroom in the main room. The hotel comps you for coffee/snacks from their cute cafe downstairs. Note the rooftop bar is not directly accessible from the hotel; you have to walk outside and the entrance is a couple doors down. They unfortunately did not offer early check in so we arrived at 10am and did not get our room til 4pm. In spite of this, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Stayed here for 5 nights; it was a fun place to stay and would definitely stay here again.
