This is an experience like no other. The views are amazing and the property is teeming with wildlife! The additional extras such as the food hampers and knitted socks really made for a homely stay. Is it a modern, generic property that you could find in a concrete jungle? Absolutely not - and you wouldn't want it to be! A stay at Mt Quincan was exactly the escape we needed and will definitely be back!
The views and the seclusion are just amazing. We had no idea if anyone else was even up there. We went in May so it was raining a fair bit. Just perfect sitting in a warm two person spa, listening to the rain, with the fire going, looking out the windows on to the rain forest. A magical experience. The walks in the area are lovely. We saw a tree kangaroo, bandicoots and a very shy echidna. There are a few scrub turkeys that hang out near the cabins trying to get a free lunch. Quite entertaining to watch. The cabins themselves are really nice. Polished wood throughout and louvers on just about every wall to catch the breeze. Great balcony where you can just sit and listen to the rainforest. Everything provided in the cabin was good quality too. There's complimentary port waiting for you, pretty reasonable quality. The chocolates were nice. The toilet paper was good quality. The soaps in the bathroom were nice. The breads and the breakfast they leave for you to cook were great. They've clearly gone out of their way to make you feel looked after. At the same time they leave you to it after you've been shown the room so you don't get interrupted. We will be going back for sure.
We stayed here for a weekend in April. Our first impressions were wow! Though once we settled in we were disappointed with the condition of the place. There was no Wi-Fi and reception was closed on that weekend. We tried phoning as we were having trouble with the stove but no one picked up. It needs a refurbishment for it to be a luxury stay. The TV was difficult to find and didn’t work very well. We ran out of kindle to start the fire for the 2nd night. The kitchen was very dated. The bread for breakfast was incredible though! The walking track around the crater was closed permanently so all in all was disappointing for what we paid. Definitely a nice relaxing place and with a little updating would definitely be worth it.
