One of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever been in. They upgraded us to our own villa on the beach. The villa was beautiful, it had its own pool and beach access. We were one of only a few people staying there at the time (we went in march). The service was great, food was great and service was great. We travel a lot and it might have been one of the nicest experiences we had.
Mukul is truly an exquisite place. Everything is immaculately clean and kept, modern, warm gracious... everything you'd expect from a luxury golf resort. Beautiful homes at far less than Mexico, Europe, or Costa Rica!
We visited Mukul for a golf trip last week and were made to feel extremely unwelcome - the worst hospitality in Nicaragua. We arrived to play golf at 8am to learn that the course was closed because of rain and wouldn’t open until 2pm. We managed to get breakfast (though were initially told that this was not possible as we didn’t have a reservation despite the place being empty). We had 5 hours to kill so thought we would spend it exploring the resort, though while doing so were met by Marta who was quick to point out that we weren’t welcome in the hotel part of the resort. This was no problem (we thought) as we walked back along the beach and planned to use the pool. Our server (who was delightful) said that he had been told by Marta that we were unable to use the pool, beach or sun loungers despite us being the only people in the resort. As a result, we were forced to look at the lovely empty resort from the restaurant. When it came to play golf, the pro shop spoke poor English and was very unwelcoming. We were not provided with the clubs we requested and were promised and it took close to 20 minutes to get her to change them. We were not given any instructions and had to figure things out for ourselves (which way to go, the course etc). For $650 for two people to play golf, we were highly unimpressed and thought the golf course was in poor condition. The overall experience was really poor and if you want luxury I suggest you go up the road to Rancho Santana where they could not have been more welcoming and hospitable.
