We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour group, (my wife who didn’t attend this trip but we regularly travel overseas for holidays and conferences) and in my opinion my Marriott hotel stay was fabulous. Firstly all the staff (at the desk, bar and breakfast) were all friendly and communicated very well considering I only know English. The rooms were well appointed, very clean, tidy and serviced everyday so house keeping did a very good job. The amenities such as the pool, sauna, gym, showers etc were all clean, well equipped and spacious, it was very impressive. Breakfast had a very nice range of options including a specific vegan section which I don’t always find. Food fresh and well prepared. It sort of a disservice to call it an airport hotel as its location in Freising is perfect for a traveller who wants more of a taste of more the local life and away from the busy touristy city areas. Freising is a beautiful town and has many nice eateries and variety of shops. From the hotel It’s a nice easy walk to the train station and convenient to be transported into Munich. I would happily stay here again

Solid Marriott experience at a great value. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is attentive and professional. The hotel’s location in Freising offers a peaceful setting with convenient access to Munich Airport via their shuttle service. Excellent breakfast options and reliable amenities make it a dependable choice for both business and leisure travelers.

I want to express my profound disappointment with my recent stay at the Munich Airport Marriott Hotel, a property that falls absolutely short of the standards expected from the Marriott brand. First and foremost, the hotel’s name, “Airport Marriott,” is blatantly misleading. The implication of proximity to Munich Airport is a gross misrepresentation when, in reality, it would take an exhausting 2 hours and 20 minutes to walk to the terminals. For a hotel branding itself as an airport convenience, this is unacceptable and represents deceptive marketing. Travelers rely on accurate naming to make informed decisions, and this misnomer severely undermines trust. Additionally, upon arrival, I found that one of the beds was not even made. This is a fundamental failure in basic housekeeping standards. For a hotel of Marriott’s reputed caliber, such negligence is inexcusable and set another deeply negative tone for the stay. The shuttle service, which should be a cornerstone of an “airport” hotel, was equally disappointing. The absence of a reliable schedule, particularly for early flights, made it useless for guests with morning departures. I was forced to arrange alternative transportation at significant inconvenience and expense. A shuttle that fails to cater to the needs of airport travelers defeats its purpose entirely. On the other hand, the breakfast service was another letdown. The service started at a time that made it impractical for guests with early commitments or flights. The physical condition of the hotel was deplorable. The property is visibly run-down, with carpets and curtains that were not only outdated but outright gross and stained. The overall ambiance was one of neglect, far removed from the clean, modern, and comfortable environment Marriott promises. In summary, my stay at the Munich Airport Marriott Hotel was an exercise in frustration and disappointment. From the misleading name and inadequate shuttle service to the unprepared room, late breakfast, and dilapidated condition of the property, every aspect fell woefully short of expectations. Guests deserve transparency, basic cleanliness, and services that align with the hotel’s airport-centric branding. Marriott should take urgent steps to prevent other travelers from enduring similar ordeals.
