Muong Thanh Grand Lao Cai Hotel

Room was spacious with great view from the 15th floor, I can see the whole city and the China- Vietnam immigrant gateway. the buffet is alright to my taste but my kids really enjoyed it. Staffs were so friendly and the swimming pool was alright. The only thing needs improvement was the lobby was hot and the AC weren't on when we arrived. Overall it was a pleasant stay at the hotel. Would recommend if you're looking for a quality hotel in this city

Good hotel and breakfast. The staff was amazing, especially Thao. She helped us to get transport to Hanoi and answered all our questions. She speaks well English.

**Avoid This Hotel – Disappointing Stay** The photos looked nice, but reality was far from it. We had the "Deluxe Twin" room, which was reeked of stale smoke, the carpet was dirty, and the bathroom was worn down (loose towel holder, etc.). Our **12th-floor room** offered no escape from noise—constant city sounds, hallway chatter, and neighboring rooms made it impossible to sleep well. Breakfast was a letdown—cheap, overly sweet, and unhealthy. The coffee was undrinkable (thankfully, I had my own water). Worst of all? A staff member scratched his ear and then used the same hand to eat from the buffet—unacceptable hygiene! The receptionists didn’t speak English and couldn’t assist properly, relying on a faulty translation app. We also booked a day too early—our mistake—but the hotel showed zero flexibility or courtesy. Despite messaging them immediately, they never responded. **Choose a better hotel**—there are plenty in the area with friendly, helpful staff. Never staying here again!
