Muong Thanh Lang Son Hotel

Supposedly a 5 star hotel. The room was pretty good, the pool was nice, went down to dinner in the huge restaurant but, it looked closed, they had one menu which we photographed so we could all look at it, we chose two items, they headed off to the kitchen and came back saying that they couldn't do either, not exactly 5 star. Having said that breakfast was excellent. Had to go out in the rain and get a cab to a local restaurant.

Old hotel with no atmosphere. Nothing "luxuary" at all. Rooms are outdated. However, the bed was comfy. Cleaning should be improved. Staff is not very friendly. Pool area is not very inviting. The breakfast lacks quality and choices. Mainly for Asian guests. Cheap ingredients. They are not even able to make an omelette at the egg station. There are much better Muong Thanh Hotels in Vietnam. This one is no recommendation!

I would absolutely not recommend this hotel. The hotel itself is large but no more than average. The location and food options terrible. Staff below average for Vietnam. After 9 days traveling this has been my worst experience, not just the hotel but also this area. I could have booked the Sheraton hotel for the same price, I really didn’t want to book an American hotel but I regret that decision. Do not make the same mistake I did and book just because of the pool pictures. 100% not worth it!!!
