Lo Mustang – I was very excited to visit this place even before arriving. However, once I got here, I realized that the hotel has several areas that need improvement. To begin with, the manager was not welcoming at all. He came across as rude and even charged us unnecessarily, which was disappointing. On a positive note, Mr. Naven from the staff was extremely helpful. He remained calm and polite throughout our stay. Honestly, he seems much more suited for a managerial role than the current one in charge. The food was tasty, but the options were quite limited. Also, it would be helpful if the hotel clearly informed guests beforehand that the sauna is not suitable for children. Thank you.

We were the only guests considering staying at Lo Mustang in Muktinath, and apparently that was a problem for their cook—because doing his actual job seemed too much work. He flat-out told us (in the most unprofessional way possible) that he was too lazy to cook for just us, so it would be better if we didn’t stay. To make it worse, after we had already spoken with their sales manager about rates, the staff at the hotel conveniently gave us a more expensive price—clearly hoping we’d walk away—just so the cook could “chill” instead of doing his job. I don’t know what’s more shocking: the audacity to tell paying customers they’re not worth the effort, or the fact that the owner clearly isn’t checking how their staff treat guests. If this is how they handle the only potential guests in the hotel, I can’t imagine what they’d be like when it’s busy. Disappointed, dissatisfied, and wouldn’t recommend unless you enjoy paying extra to be told you’re unwanted. The owner seriously needs to cross-check his staff before they scare away every guest.
