Castle tour guided by Sari Saarinen was super: plenty of interesting information of the site. The guide was pleasant and funny too. The castle surroundings made me rest as ease - so beautiful. Bar lunch was delish,
Was there for a guided tour of the mansion and a lunch afterwards. The lunch was delicious and served with good wines. The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect Swedish. Even better was that he could convey the story of the mansion and make it interesting and fun. The history of Svartå bruk and slott was almost a metaphor for Finland's industrial and societal development. Plus some juicy details of some figures of Finnish high society. The mansion is beautiful and the park is well worth taking a stroll through.
The location is beautiful, on the countryside by a lake. I bet staying there is nice but very expensive! From an employee pov it was not so great tho. Seen lots of weddings etc. Very beautiful place for celebrations, there is a church right next to the Hotel area. Just keep in mind it really is the countryside! No shops or restaurants etc, except for the hotel restaurant ofc. They have saunas too
