Great stay for a quick overnight! We arrived around 10pm after a baseball game and had no issues with mobile check-in. The hotel feels a bit remote but has a grand entrance and a lively bar/lounge (surprisingly busy for a Thursday night). Staff was friendly and check-in was smooth. Our 2-queen room on the 5th floor was clean, quiet, and spacious—perfect for sports families (lots of room for knee hockey!). Comfortable beds, good fridge, and the HVAC worked fine. Bathroom was small but clean, with hot water and a tub/shower combo—just wish there were more towel hooks. The pool was the highlight! Huge L-shaped pool, warm, and super clean. Lots of natural light, towels fully stocked, and great for kids of all ages. Gym was outdated but functional. Overall, a solid, family-friendly stay. Would definitely recommend for sports travel. 2009-present This is a beautiful property and great staff. As soon as you walk in they are so welcoming, warm, and friendly. The spa was formally named The Red Door(Elizabeth Arden) now it is Cerulean Beauty Spa. It is still wonderful and smells great in here. The spa pkgs are wonderful and a nice selection. The overall experience was nice. I enjoyed when me and my spouse would attend balls here and we got a hotel room for our family to stay overnight. The food and service was truly nice. Their hospitality is like I remembered it when me and my family lived in Connecticut in 2009-2015.
There is definitely room for improvement. To start, I had called the hotel the day before check in to order champagne and chocolates to be delivered to the room as a birthday surprise for my friend. It was supposed to be delivered at 5. I called at 5:20 and was told they would look into it. They didn't take down my credit card information correctly. Did not bother to call to correct it. When we arrived, we drove past a sign pointing us to valet parking. No one came out. Come to find out, they no longer offer that. The front desk said "sorry, we haven't taken the sign down". It took ten minutes for anyone to even offer assistance with our luggage. The rooms were very clean with comfortable beds. The A/C was very cool as long as you close the blinds. Otherwise the windows let in too much heat. The doors to the rooms are very loud when they close, and are not well insulated. You could hear everything out in the hall, including all the doors slamming shut! Then one morning as we were getting ready, room service staff pounded on the door so loud it shook the room and scared the daylights out of me! I thought my friend had passed out and hit the floor! That was totally uncalled for! We put the do not disturb sign out going forward. The shower could use some upgrades. There is no bench to prop your legs up to shave and the one shelf in there is so small, you can't fit full size shampoo and conditioner bottles. Ridiculously small and useless! There is no vent fan in the bathroom, so everything gets steamed and damp. Plus, what is with the barn style door to the bathroom? Very poor privacy and sound proofing. On the positive side, the spa was divine! The staff was amazing! The rest of the hotel staff should take lessons on how to treat guests! The restaurant and room service was fantastic as well. Everything was delicious!
