We recently stayed at the Hotel Mövenpick-Hallbergmoos near Munich Airport and overall had a very positive experience. The hotel is a great option if you’re looking for a convenient Park & Fly solution. We were able to leave our car at the hotel during our trip, and everything from check-in to the airport transfer went absolutely smoothly. After returning from our travels, we were even reimbursed for the taxi ride back from the airport directly at reception—an efficient and much appreciated service. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout. When we returned to the hotel and asked about coffee or a possible breakfast—despite having missed breakfast hours—a kind receptionist told us we could help ourselves to coffee from the machine in the hall. Next to the machine were some croissants and small snacks, which seemed like a thoughtful touch. I made myself a coffee, one for my wife, and took a couple of croissants for our kids, who hadn’t had anything to eat yet. Unfortunately, this is where the experience took a disappointing turn. One of the staff members—possibly a head waiter or manager—approached me in a very rude and abrupt manner in front of my family and other guests. He ordered me to put the croissants back, despite the fact that I had already taken them with my hands. I explained I was happy to pay for them, and that I touched them already but he insisted quite harshly that we weren’t allowed to take them, pointing out a sign (in German, which I do not speak). He even went to verify the situation with reception, who apparently clarified that only coffee was permitted. While I understand if certain items were not intended for guests at that time, the manner in which this was handled was completely inappropriate and unnecessarily humiliating. It’s especially surprising and disappointing coming from a hotel brand like Mövenpick, where hospitality and professionalism are typically of a high standard. Despite this unfortunate incident, I want to highlight that the rest of our experience was very good, and the service at the front desk was excellent. With better internal communication and a more courteous approach from certain staff, this hotel would deserve a full five stars.

On the positive side, the hotel's location was incredibly convenient for my meeting place, which made my stay much easier. However, I did encounter a small issue during my visit. One of the staff members in the bar was a bit rude when he tried to charge me €3.50 for a pot of fresh milk! It seemed a bit over the top, especially considering I only used one of the two welcome drinks I was entitled to. Quite unbelievable, really.

The hotel is okay, rooms are clean. Experience at check in was not the best with a wrong, significant amount, almost charged to my card as a guarantee. Price of the carpark is indecent. You should inform your customer at check in and not only rely on small print on the web site. Be careful
