Nafplia Palace Hotel & Villas

An absolutely stunning location, almost within the grounds of the ancient fortifications. The hotel is set on a hill overlooking the old town and the waterfront, offering breathtaking views. There is even an elevator that takes you directly down to the old town, making it very easy to get around. The hotel also has its own parking, which is very convenient. We were upgraded to a room with a private pool, which was a wonderful bonus during the hot days of our trip. The room was spacious, with a huge bathroom featuring a freestanding bathtub and a large shower. There was also a jacuzzi, although unfortunately, it wasn’t working during our stay. The room included a bidet toilet, plenty of towels, including beach towels, a comfortable bed, and good quality linens. Everything was very clean. The only downside was the lack of Wi-Fi in the room, but we were informed this was a temporary issue. It’s also worth noting that the hotel is a bit old, with rooms full of technology that was modern 10 years ago, and not everything works perfectly. However, this did not spoil our overall impression. Breakfast was decent, and the restaurant offers a spectacular view while you eat. Overall, we definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in Nafplio.

This is a formerly 5-star hotel that is now doing its best on a limited budget. The room we had was incredible, but it was dated and had some noticeable wear and tear issues. For instance, the wood floors are scraped and scratched and clearly haven't been redone in years. The elevators are mostly out of service and half the hotel is closed down. Also, no wifi, which is weird in a place like Greece where you can get wifi in the middle of nowhere. On the other hand, the pools are amazing. The grounds are amazing. The view is incredible. The breakfast buffet every morning was one of the best I've ever had, especially since you eat it on the balcony over-looking the bay at Nafplio. Finally, the staff are very accommodating and fast about getting you what you need. So, this is like a 4-star hotel wearing it's old 5-star clothes from back when it was hot. Once you realize that you will have a great stay, even at the price, which is high. I really liked it and I'd go back if I do a return visit to Nafplio.

My recent stay at this hotel was highly disappointing. The rooms were extremely dated and desperately in need of renovation. The shower barely worked, and there was no hot water most of the time. Moreover, several balcony lights were out, making it feel unsafe at night. To top it off, the main door lock was broken, leaving our belongings vulnerable. The food was another letdown; it was mediocre at best, and breakfast was outright terrible. The only redeeming aspect of this establishment was the staff, who were friendly and did their best to assist us. In conclusion, this hotel is severely outdated and neglected. It urgently requires a comprehensive update and better maintenance. Given the current condition, it is definitely not worth the money.
