Fujizo Ryokan, which protects the 600-year-old Namari Onsen, has four baths filled with hot spring water from five sources. The baths in the guest rooms of the Western-style annex, which is a stark contrast to the main building, which is made entirely of zelkova, are also 100% natural spring water, just like the baths in the main building. Enjoy both the traditional baths and the fresh air of the annex. The bathtub, connected directly to the hot spring outlet, is approximately 1.2m deep. The hot spring water fills the bathtub without oxidizing when exposed to air or being diluted with water, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the hot spring water for a luxurious bathing experience
Kokoro no Toki, Jusangatsu is the most modern onsen hotel I have ever stayed. It is nothing like most of the traditional onsens I have visited. Jusangatsu is new generation of onsen, it is set up more like an up-market apartment, everything they do is to impress. And They have done that. Importantly, the chef ought to be complimented for the superb dinner.
Nice place! I particularly enjoyed the river view from my private onsen. Be sure to also check out the public onsens at Fujisan ryokan (connected via an indoor walkway). The hosts here are great, especially the guy from Nepal who helped me check in. He spoke great English and was super welcoming. Would return.
