Great hotel and calm area. The rooms are nice and clean. The Onsen is really nice (multiple baths + sauna + relaxation area + powder room). It is possible to rent a bicycle for 500 yen (cheaper than in town) and the bike ride to the city is quite beautiful along the river. The staff is really nice (special mention to Moro who was particularly patient and helpful). Overall a great deal in terms on price.

It was an amazing stay. We loved the spa, the room, and the friendly personnel. The hotel was easily accessible by train, making it a convenient choice for travelers. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the professionalism of the porter, who welcomed us warmly and ensured a smooth check-in. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, offering a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The highlight of our stay was definitely the Japanese onsen. The facilities were top-notch, providing an authentic and incredibly relaxing experience after a long day of exploring. Another great bonus was the included breakfast. The selection was diverse and delicious, offering both Japanese and Western options to start the day off right. Overall, the Nara Royal Hotel exceeded our expectations. Great service, comfortable accommodations, an exceptional spa, and a tasty breakfast make it a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Nara. Highly recommended!

The room is spacious with a nice view of a private garden, even on the 3rd floor. The hotel hallways have a mildew odor due to the natural hot-spring bath house in the basement of the hotel. The bath house is quite big but if you're a shy person, it may not be your cup of tea. No clothes are allowed in the pool. The room rate is very affordable. There are 3 restaurants downstairs so you don't need to step out searching for something to eat if you feel a bit lazy.
