A belated review from a winter holiday with the whole family! It was a lovely visit from start to finish, with wonderful accommodations and team members, food and bar, spa, pool, beautiful snowy outdoors to enjoy from the windows indoors or with glühwein outside...a perfect place to enjoy the holidays with family (very kid friendly too!), and I hope to come back soon!
The suite we booked was lovely, my only complaint was the glass door to the bathroom which allowed for zero privacy, which is why I gave it a 3. It was a problem for us because we traveled with another member and they had to enter the suite past the glass door. Which also meant it was difficult to go lay in the beautiful tub. If someone is just traveling with their partner and doesn’t mind having no privacy I would give it a 5.
- [ ] Summary: avoid. overpriced and outdated hotel with unfriendly and rude staff. Don’t come if you’re allergic to dust or rudeness. Do yourself a favour and book a nice hotel. - [ ] Overpriced, old, and bad service. For almost 500/night you expect a nice, well taken care of, relaxing holiday where you’re treated kindly and with respect. None of these were applicable to our 3 night stay. - [ ] Horrible staff in restaurant that clearly don’t like their job. Forgets orders, gets irritated and arrogant that she didn’t remember the drinks order and I had to correct her twice, walks over to another table half way giving our food order without comment (absolutely rude), when we asked for a small deviation to the menu (my partner is pregnant) the waitress was very annoyed and began to sigh deeply. In the morning we were send away because we were a few minutes before opening and were not allowed to just wait at our table. Waiting in the lobby, we got entertained by cleaning staff cursing and shouting to each other. The breakfast buffet is good. Don’t order a second coffee if you don’t want the lady to get mad at you. - [ ] Food is acceptable but definitely not what you expect or pay for. No evening there was a beef option, and the fish options are the cheapest fish available. Be careful, Friday is buffet only night. At breakfast you are forced to decide what you want to eat in the evening, when you refuse and want to keep options open, they’re clearly upset by you not entertaining their show. - [ ] The funny part: there is a dress code for guests. Given the above mentioned quality from the hotel I find this rather pretentious. - [ ] On a positive note: the flowers on the tables are not fake. - [ ] Reception staff are decent people but also could use some training. - [ ] Okay pool, a bit small for amount of guests, you need to chase getting a fresh towel yourself. - [ ] Beds are not very comfy and with separate small blankets. They were not able and willing to arrange a two person blanket. For such hotel you’d expect they’ll have some larger blankets available for couples. I guess the hotel targets couples with no love left. - [ ] Acoustically the rooms are bad: you can hear the people next door have a normal conversation, the doors to the corridor are of single wood so don’t block corridor noise. The air exhaust in the toilet and bathroom doesn’t turn off and is very loud. This is terrible for falling asleep. - [ ] There is no floor heating and only a radiator below the window. Causing bad temperature regulation and dry air. - [ ] Lights in the room to bright and cold and not dimmable. There’s no light above the mirror in the bathroom. - [ ] Shower is small and basic with no place to hang the shower head if you want to keep your hair dry and don’t want to use the rain shower. - [ ] No free bottle of water or any welcome in the room. - [ ] View from the rooms are nice. - [ ] Spa area on the top floor is very nice, but a bit small for so many guests. - [ ] Conclusion: would be okay for 150/night. Though, regardless of price, I expect to be treated with the same respect and kindness as we do. A smile or saying ‘good morning’ doesn’t cost anything to give.
