Naxian Resort

A very nice complex of houses in a very secluded part of a Naxos. The houses are nice, all of them have very clean swimming pools, BBQ area, lots of storage, everything necessary for cooking, etc. They are 200 metres from a beautiful (though pebbled) beach. Two important things: the stairs are quite steep and may be dangerous for small kids (or drunk adults) and the place is isolated, the closest shop is a few kilometres away, so having a car is almost a must. Also, the houses are not cleaned (though probably this can be arranged).

Stayed here with another family in one house. We booked a home with a pool and when we were checking in, the place they took us to did not have a pool. After explaining what we reserved, the manager was able to get us into a home with a pool. She was very helpful and made sure our place was what we reserved. We had 8 of us in one of the 5 bedroom houses. Bedrooms are fine. The main kitchen and living room got crowded when we were eating. Luckily, the weather was nice and we were able to eat outside. There are two kitchens. The main is fairly well stocked. The kitchen downstairs had next to nothing. We had a total of 2 forks in the place so the manager brought us more. Beds were comfortable and linens were nice. We did not get our beach towels until our second day there. The beach is nice with some rocks. Definitely a nice place to hang out and swim when not hanging by the pool.

Location is great and villas are very nice. Unfortunately we experienced issues with check-in, getting a different villa than we selected, wireless coverage and hot water - so wanted to let others know. There was no reception area or advance information on check in. We showed up and spent a while trying to find someone, or find the villa we rented. Finally found someone who located the person who was to meet us. He brought us to a different villa than the one we selected on-line - which had 1 less bed. We made it work, but caused 2 people to share a bed. Wireless did not extend to upper floor. Also - hot water appears to be solar. It was hot at night, but not in the morning. If there was an electric back-up it either was not working, or we were not informed how to use it. Communication on the wrong villa issue has still not been responded to by the company. Nice villas and location, but customer service was lacking.
