Nayara Alto Atacama

The food is exceptional, a real standout. Excursions were hosted by enthusiastic guides. Humidifier in the room was a nice touch. Throughly enjoyable stay from start to finish.

Had an amazing experience at this resort. Beautiful, yet even better was the service level from the minute we arrived (at 10P - they had sandwiches and the BAR kitchen open for us - top 5 pizza I have ever had - weird, I know...and I am from Chicago!) throughout our stay. Meals in their dining room out matched the exquisite view from our table...and the service was truly 5 star. Management was checking in regularly with us, and every person on site knew our name...perfectly appointed rooms, as well. However, none of this matched the service and knowledge level of our guide, Claudio. He was only focused on us embracing all that Atecama had to offer. He and our driver, Claudio (yep, we have a double dose of Claudio), took us to see so much over 3 days: Flamingo, hot springs, salt baths, salt formations, multiple little villages, Geysers, wild donkeys, Volcanos with Bolivia in the background...this experience, for us, was on the heels of hiking Patagonia. And while we thought this would be the icing on the cake after that leg of our trip - well, it simply augmented the experience for us. I would highly recommend Nayara Alto Atacama if you are looking for a quality stay, amazing food, and "5 star service" - as Claudio would say. OH - and if you need a guide - make sure to ask for Claudio. He will lean into his 20 plus years of being a guide, who lives locally, and guides with a passion unmatched.

Great location with great hikes near by or a short car ride away. Amazing area and vacation destination for nature lovers. The hotel itself is definitely not a luxury resort but a very dated four star accommodation with a lot of marketing. Cheap ceramic tile, outdated decor and in great need of renovation. Staff is very friendly but generally not well trained. Grounds and walkways are not kept up. The tour guide desk and some equipment is stuffed in the back of the main bar area. The restaurant, vine selection, and menu is great and the food very tasty and well presented. The breakfast buffet needs improvement.
