From the very first contact, Manduna Resort made us feel incredibly welcome. Before our trip even began, Lanna and Elias set up a WhatsApp group with us and immediately started helping with every little detail, from booking our Susi Air tickets to arranging fast ferry transfers. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and this thoughtful support made us feel cared for long before we arrived. When we got to the resort, we were greeted by Eduardo, the owner, and his friends – all warm, kind-hearted Brazilians who radiate hospitality. The breakfast experience alone deserves a mention. Each morning you get a small checklist where you can choose exactly what you’d like – from fresh fruit to scrambled eggs, delicious Brazilian dishes, and great coffee. Eduardo personally checked if there was anything else we or our children would like, making sure even the smallest requests were met with a smile. The location is breathtaking. The resort sits right on a pristine beach scattered with beautiful shells. The water is perfect for both snorkeling and surfing, and often you have the whole place to yourself. At night, the sky is so dark and clear that we saw more stars than ever before. We rented scooters directly from Manduna, which made exploring easy. One evening, our fuel was running low and we planned to ask where to fill up the next day. Before we could even mention it, the staff had already topped up the tank for us – without asking for payment. This “above and beyond” approach was consistent throughout our stay. They also helped us plan surf lessons and gave advice on the best times to go snorkeling. We visited with our two daughters, aged 7 and 10, and it felt like the perfect family island experience – simple, natural, and full of warmth. The island is still underdeveloped, which adds to its charm, but it also means there are no large supermarkets. We recommend bringing extra sunscreen, especially for lighter skin, as it can be hard to find locally. In our case, when we ran out, Lanna generously shared her own supply without hesitation. We met lovely other families during our stay, adding to the friendly, home-like atmosphere of the resort. It was the perfect mix of comfort, community, and untouched beauty. Getting there from Amsterdam is a bit of a journey, but it’s absolutely worth it. Manduna Resort has truly stolen our hearts, and we will definitely return!

An absolute fantastic experience with Manduna Resort. Our Plans changed slightly and we spontaneously checked in here and it made our entire Rote holiday magical. The fantastic location, the great rooms and great outdoor area- it was a pure 5 star experience. Particular shout out to Lanna for going above and beyond with all guest relations and helping us with our little one, Ed the owner who was welcoming and warm at all times and Elias managing everything smoothly. We had an unforgettable week there, were pampered by the whole team and would always recommend the resort without a doubt. For simple dishes the kitchen is good and if you are looking for additional variety the owner will recommend you one of the many places. Highlight was the tuna we caught ourselves and the kitchen made us fresh sashimi :)

Manduna is a paradise resort on a paradise island. Our 2 weeks stay at Manduna turned out to be the best surf trip of our lives so far! The place is amazing and the entire team is perfect. Special thanks to Lana and Elias for handling all our requests so efficiently (bike, transfers, doctor, medics, ear drops, visa issues, massages, general recommendations). Special thanks to the chef and the team at the restaurant for their professionalism, care, and flexibility (vegan options everyday). Eventually, massive thank you to Edoardo, the owner, for sharing everyday his enthusiasm and his passion for the island, surfing, foiling, and waves in general + always ensuring that our stay was perfect.
