New Century Grand Hotel Hangzhou

Loved my stay here. Neat, spacious, and clean rooms. What impressed me most was the small touches, such as an extra card to keep lights on in the room when you are outside. This helps a great deal so you can charge your phones when away. Also ample charging points including USB chargers, a night light, etc. The service is warm, and the staff genuinely try to help, though lack of English can be a concern. The breakfast buffet is massive with several options to choose from, though vegetarians may struggle, especially when there is often a mixing of serving spoons between meat and vegetarian dishes by other guests. The gym has a nice variety of equipment while they even have an indoor heated pool, card and chess room and play area for children. The hotel has a huge convention centre and a subway stop right outside. The MixC mall is right across, allowing quick access to food and shopping. The only sore point was the internet, which was slow and unreliable. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Thanks a lot for the Level 3 buffet service manager Mr Deng Changsheng who is very Kind and Friendly. Thanks for you amazing service. I was having buffet dinner in hotel with my Family dated 09 June 2024, however my older girl was having fever and stay in room have no food to eat. So I seeked Mr Deng Changsheng’s help that whether allow me to bring some fried rice for my older girl for dinner as I dont want to order delivery since she is sick. Mr Deng is very kind, he offers me some fried rice and some bread allow me to bring back room in case children feel hungry in the late night and may need to take some bites before take medicine. I was so touched and appreciate his kind heart and amazing service management.

The New Century is a classic giant hotel in the outside neighbourhood of Hangzhou called Xiaoshan. The hotel used to be a classic reference for local Chinese weddings and some conference meetings of local companies, as well as a destination for foreigners travelling to the industrial areas nearby. The hotel is no longer the bad place it used to be with no one speaking English and nothing at all as there is a nice new shopping mall opposite to it and good metro connection. The spa in the last floor is not as good as before but it still has some benefits as well as the pool and the renovated gym. Rooms are big, a bit old fashioned but much cleaner than before.
