New Hotel Sonia

Our family visit this hotel every year - we love it. The restaurant is excellent as is cleanliness and atmosphere. We will be continuing to go back for many years to come.

I want to be fair. The location of the hotel is amazing. It's right on the beach, with it's open private section. The beach is patrolled by an eagle eyed lifeguard who also assigns the beach chairs and umbrellas. The beach is clean and the water is nice. The reception staff are welcoming and accommodating. The restaurant staff are at best inattentive and at worst extremely irritated by your presence. One server in particular really seems to hate life, sighing loudly at the first sign of your presence. The rooms are dated. You only get one key which must be placed in a switch to activate lights and AC. There's no Do Not Disturb sign. The switch activates an indicator outside the room. So if you're in the room but the key isn't in the switch, housekeeping will think you're not there and barge in. The rooms are Spartan but clean. Parking at the hotel doesn't exist. They have a lot up the hill which is locked. At 10 Euro a night, we made do. Overall, the location is the best feature. If you get it cheap, you can put up with everything else. Skip the restaurant.
