I stayed one night at New Kuta by Lorin in Uluwatu, and it was a very special day for me — the day I proposed to my girlfriend. The hotel staff understood how important this moment was and went above and beyond to decorate our room beautifully and help make the day unforgettable. The staff were truly kind, warm-hearted, and professional. Housekeeping was excellent — everything was clean and well-maintained. The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from Dreamland Beach, which makes it a great spot for a peaceful getaway. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax away from the noise, I highly recommend staying here. Thank you again to the amazing team at New Kuta by Lorin!
We booked New Kuta Hotel for our honeymoon and stayed for one night out of the seven we originally reserved. The staff was kind and welcoming, but unfortunately, the hotel didn’t meet our expectations. First, the location is very isolated — there’s almost nothing nearby, and if you’re looking for nightlife or even a variety of restaurants, this is not the right spot. We enjoy clubbing and a more vibrant atmosphere, so this was a big letdown for us. The hotel itself seems outdated. The shower in our room was rusty, and overall the room felt like it needed some serious maintenance. The restaurant menu was also quite limited — only around 6–7 dishes, which made it difficult to enjoy meals at the hotel for more than a day. We flew over 12,000 km and were really hoping for a special experience, but sadly we decided to check out early. It might suit someone looking for a very quiet and secluded spot, but definitely not ideal for honeymooners who want a balance of comfort and activity.
If i could give it 0 stars i would. I stayed here the past 2 nights with my 3 of my friends. We are currently backpacking and couldn’t find any cheaper hostels around uluwatu. We settled on new kuta because decent enough for us. We are used to getting what you pay for places and definitely aren’t living a luxury life, but this place was horrific. When arriving, the hotel doesn’t show up on google maps so we got dropped to the old kuta hotel, which is completely abandoned with squatters living inside. There were bullet holes in the ceiling and mouldy chairs stacked up against the stairs. We then had to call another cab to get us and he didn’t even know where the new hotel was. When we finally arrived, the place was derelict. 2 of the 3 huge blocks of rooms were abandoned & out of service. We were showed to our rooms, and the beds were damp, the walls were mouldy, the doors didn’t lock. The hotel is also located in the middle of nowhere. I felt like i was living in jumanji. The hotel isn’t in walking distance of anything so we had to get grabs. I am fine with getting grabs, but when we got our grabs back to the hotel, every single driver we had, said to us to not stay here. The area is so unsafe especially for female travelers. We then realised mid way through our 2 night stay that we’d been charged for 3 nights on booking.com but they only had us down to stay 2. We wanted to stay two so we could get out of there as soon as possible. When my friends went to ask for a refund at the desk, the staff said it’s not possible and it’s booking.coms fault eventhough they’re the ones who charged us. Overall, do not stay here unless you want to go abandoned house hunting on your holiday.
