New Otani Inn Sapporo

It's ok. No longer new[Shin] but Old-tani... Some areas r renovated. Chose this hotel due to last minute booking, connected rooms, therefore 2 [small] bathrooms, useful if u have kids. Std twin Rooms just enough size for one large luggage[placed on floor] n 2 cabin luggage in cupboard. Didn't dine in. Many restaurants around, 5-10min walk to subway. Bedding is ok. Pillow too high for me, so used cushion.

Stayed here for two nights in Sapporo before heading to another part of Hokkaido by bus. The hotel has an old-school charm with a spacious layout, likely due to its older building structure. One standout feature is its eco-friendly approach—amenities like toothbrushes, shower caps, scrubs, and drinks are available in the lobby for you to take as needed, but not provided in the room. Despite the age of the building, the room was clean and functional. The room itself was spacious, with plenty of charging ports and even an in-built radio on the nightstand, which was a fun touch. The bed and futon were comfortable, and the duvet was incredibly soft, making for a great sleep. The bathroom was a highlight, with a large and long bathtub that allowed me to lie down fully—much better than the usual compact sizes! The water pressure from the faucets was excellent, too. Our room overlooked the city, offering a pleasant view. Overall, a comfortable and practical stay with unique features!

Rooms are old, with stained sheet upon checked in. Air conditioning does not work and even at 16 degrees, we perspire in the room. And there is no housekeeping on weekends. Definitely won’t stay here ever again.
