Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott: A Convenient and Comfortable Stay My recent stay at the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott was very positive, offering a comfortable and convenient experience for travelers. The rooms were spacious and impeccably clean, providing a welcoming environment after a long journey. I was also impressed by the well-equipped gym, which is a great amenity for those looking to stay active while traveling. The hotel's location is excellent for airport access, being very close to Newark Liberty International Airport. While it might seem walkable at only a three-minute distance, it's important to note that you do need to use the shuttle service as there's no pedestrian walkway. This isn't a major inconvenience, but something to be aware of. A special shout-out goes to Wafaa at check-in, who was absolutely fantastic. She went above and beyond, providing us with a lovely room that had a spectacular view of the July 4th fireworks. Her exceptional service truly enhanced our stay. Overall, the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott is a solid choice for anyone seeking a clean, comfortable, and convenient hotel near the airport, with excellent service to boot.
After 25 years staying at this property it pains me to write this review. It’s very clear the property is under new management, since John the last GM left the property has changed. I know many of the staff members by name, used to look forward to staying here and seeing the GM in the lobby in the morning. Check in used to be friendly and courteous, last night I actually stopped the person who checked me in and told her let’s start over. She could not have started off more rude. Then the bar, the staff is awesome know them personally now the over 23 years. With this being an airport location it helps that the bar is open until midnight given flights are often delayed. Not any longer it closes at 10:45. When I was told that the response from the person beside me was exactly what mine was. With no where else around it a huge disservice. What did it really cost them to stay open until midnight? One Marriott person said it just getting more corporate. I agree, more corporate means it’s just about the revenue not the travelers, the people who live in the hotels. So, after staying at EWR 642 times it’s not like I will go anywhere else, there is no where else around. This property now exhibits the decline in the overall Marriott brand. It s now dropped into the property class of just another Marriott grinding out guests for revenue. What a shame.
By far one of the worst airport hotels Marriott has ever produced. Really old and musty rooms. No upgrades as an Ambassador. No lounge on Friday or weekends. Zero perks. Completely over priced. Only convenience is proximity to the airport. That’s it. I would highly recommend skipping this place. It’s really a shame because this place could be so much better. But it’s not. And likely never will be.
