It's perfectly located, well-equipped, beautifully decorated, and the views are amazing, especially from the pool! Tons of photo ops too. Plus, they have a braai area, and the staff were incredible – the service was superb.

We had our second stay at the Newlands Peak in April. Having visited the year before we were overall very happy with the accommodation. The facial scanning can be a bit of pain as we had instances on both visits when it stopped working. Our first visit we booked a 1 bedroom unit and the second we booked a studio with a courtyard. The units have everything you need including stove, full fridge, microwave,  washing machine etc. For 2 people I would recommend a 1 bedroom unit as the studio we had had the double bed against the wall so I had to climb over my partner each time I had to get up. The bathroom was a little squishy closing the door. The courtyard was lovely, we got nice morning sun which was great for drying the clothes. The units are reasonably new and are modern You get free parking and there is a cafe on site. It is in the perfect location for where we wanted to be. It's a quick walk over to Cavendish Square. We would stay again and would look to book a 1 bedroom with courtyard if that was an option/available. Photos are a mix of the courtyard and 1 bedroom unit.

I booked, last minute, via booking.com. I had not taken note of the fact it is a Halaal establishment, so there is no bar and only pretend bacon on the menu. You are given so many rules, with threats of fines for contravention, that we never felt relaxed. The welcome letter states we must use the safe in our room, yet there was no safe. And yes, we had a member of staff come and check, just in case it was hidden somewhere. I was disturbed that, as a ground floor apartment, a window catch was left open, and that one of the sliding doors looked locked, but it wasn't. The door was closed, almost, so the lock had not caught. It left me wondering if, two entry points left unsecured and the lack of a safe, whether we were being set up... When we returned to our room later that evening, we opened the door to find there were hundreds of small beetles on the floor, under the skirting and crawling up the wall. It wasn't the welcome home I expected. I reported some of the issues to reception, but they didn't seem particularly interested.
