The room faced the back, making it very quiet. The beds were comfortable, the shower was excellent, and it even featured an electric massage pillow—quite a nice surprise! The top floor bar offered fantastic views of the river.

The Hotel is set in a very beautiful location right next to the Duoro River. The City center, the beach and several tourist attractions are just a couple minutes away. The rooms were very clean. Only downside was the bathroom as the doors couldnt be fully closed and the showers were a bit hard to access. But the downside was pretty minor. As for the Staff everybody was very kind and welcoming. The receptionists, the waiters and the cleaning staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Our Waiter Miguel, who served us most times during Dinner has always served us very well with his friendly and positive nature. We had a really great stay and would recommend the Neya Porto at any time.

The room was modern and comfortably fit our family of four. It had a lovely oversized stone arched window looking over the river. The issues that I had with the hotel ultimately came down to the service standards that one would expect at a four star hotel. The shower drain was clogged, and water quickly filled up the tub while taking a shower, which is a pet peeve of mine at hotels. The spa is closed on Sunday and Monday, which I only discovered after putting on my bathing suit and robe and walking across the lobby. I would expect all hotel amenities to be available on Saturday and Sunday, or at least allow for general use of the spa even if the 1:1 spa treatments are not available. We also rented bikes nearby, only to realize later that the hotel offers free bikes. (The bikes are near the spa.) The front desk staff should provide a quick overview of the hotel amenities when you check in, including the breakfast, rooftop bar, spa, bikes, and other areas to enjoy. That alone would have upped my rating from 3 to 4 stars even if the spa was closed on Sunday. I still don’t know if the rooftop bar serves food, or if the first floor restaurant serves lunch and dinner. That’s a missed opportunity on the part of the hotel to generate additional revenue. The location is pretty, but a bit far from the centers of Porto and Gaia. We tried to use the trolleys twice, but they were not on schedule, so we ended up walking, using ride share, and driving.
