Ngalawa Hotel & Resort

In my room, it was generally very clean every day. There was a good air-conditioning system in the room. However, the bathtub and shower drained badly. The towels were old and worn and were not very clean. The issue of reliable power back up needs to be looked into as well to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

A Slice of Paradise in Zanzibar! I had an incredible stay at Ngalawa Hotel & Resort. The service was exceptional—staff were always friendly, attentive, and made sure all my needs were met. The rooms are beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable, with a modern touch that really enhances the experience. The food was outstanding, with a wide variety of dishes that highlight the best of Zanzibar's flavors. Every meal felt like a fine dining experience. The location is also perfect, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. Whether you're visiting for relaxation or adventure, Ngalawa Hotel & Resort should definitely be on your list. Highly recommended!

Bad, very bad. Service : there is no service/ whether for rooms or at reception or at the restaurant. Rooms: very bad. I checked in, no AC working, toilet hose was leaking, and then to top it off, a big lizard on the toilet floor. I have complained, it’s like you’re talking to statues. Nothing. I tried to wait, but eventually I checked out before I finish the day I’ve booked. This is how bad it is. Not recommended to anyone who looks for clean and convenient rooms. With this level of service, this hotel needs to shut down.
