NH Brussels Grand Place Arenberg

We stay in NH hotels throughout Europe and have been invariably pleased with the accommodations. We were unpleasantly surprised by the condition of our room in Grand Place Arenberg. There was a musty, disagreeable odor in both bathroom and bedroom. The shower cabin had mildew in the corners. We reused our towels in an attempt to be ecologically responsible but the humidity in the bathroom and bedroom did not allow them to dry completely even after 12-14 hours. I inquired at the front desk and they said there were no air extractors in the bathroom. They suggested I open windows but the bathroom does not have windows; furthermore the weather was cold. Investing in a dehumidifier appears to be the only solution. The upholstery was stained and torn. Location and breakfast were excellent. The breakfast was excellent as was the location.

This hotel is located in the city center, 400 meters away from the train station. The room facilities are a bit shabby, except for the bed, it is good! The bathroom lacks steam exchange device, it is very noisy when the window is opened, and the breakfast is not very rich. There is no elevator to the underground parking lot.

Only plus was the location. Its easy to walk around. Photos of rooms on booking sites looks modern but it is not what you will get. Wallpaper peeling, dated toilet, really old heaters is actually the right expectation. Bed is comfortable. Never tried breakfast, so i cant comment. You can easily find good breakfast around so i didnt choose the hotel one. Check in and check out process easy. Its a 3 star hotel at best.
