NH Ingolstadt

Was in Ingolstadt for a work training, and the hotel did not disappoint. Traditional decor and well-kept furniture make this hotel unique. Service was very nice, and the coffee in the morning with the breakfast buffet was what you needed to start the day.

Watch out the crisps and nuts are not free! The min bar also isn’t free but that is expected although no price list in the fridge you will be charged. Other than the crisp deception brilliant hotel and staff food is good too.

This is a run down facility off the Ingolstadt Nord exit, with few amenities in the hotel or in the surrounding neighborhood. The surrounding community is primarily lower income apartments, with the attendant noise and disarray. The park to the north is bounded by auto body shops and light industry. The autobahn 1 block east is clearly audible through the night, and since there is no air conditioning, on warm days you will have to choose between quiet or a comfortable temperature. There is no fitness center, which is painful on a business trip, and the surrounding area does not offer much in the way of an alternative. 6 blocks to the south is the Danube river, with a running path, your best bet if you need to get some exercise. The paint above the bed was peeling and worn, and the pillows lumpy and old. Otherwise the room and bathroom were fine. Front desk service was good and timely, and breakfast was typically good as most German hotels are, the only reason this is not a one star review. Bar service was poor, with a single bartender also apparently the janitor and room service attendant. There was a conference of some sort while we stayed there, and during the happy hour the bar would be unattended for upwards of 20 minutes at a time. I will not return to NH Ingolstadt.
