Two minute walk from train station - perfect. Staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Didn’t have breakfast. Loved the welcoming juice and sweetie/savoury snack jars - lovely touch.
I stayed for just one night as I was passing through and prioritised being close to the station. I had read the reviews beforehand, so I had a general idea of what to expect. I stayed in a superior single room. Check-in went smoothly. Once I got to the floor, I noticed the corridors were a bit poorly maintained. The room itself was fine—more in line with a three-star hotel. However, it had several signs of wear: there were marks on the floor from the door, cracked furniture, and the bathroom showed damp stains and peeling paint on the ceiling. Overall, it felt like the room hadn’t been properly maintained. The water pressure in the shower was good, and I slept well. In the morning, I did a quick check-out. Overall, I’d say it’s a decent hotel, but not up to the usual NH standard, and it doesn’t quite live up to a four-star rating.
I can not believe this is a NH hotel let alone a 4 star one. I stayed at this property for just one night, and unfortunately, it fell far below expectations—especially for a place marketed as a 4-star hotel with premium pricing. While the location is convenient, just a short walk from the train station, that’s where the positives end. The building is in a serious state of disrepair. Beyond the deceptively modern and well-maintained lobby, the condition of the rooms is shocking. The floor in my room was uneven (perhaps unintentionally echoing the Leaning Tower), the wallpaper was peeling, and parts of the wooden furniture were rotten. The bathroom had visible holes, some poorly patched with caulk, and the sink was broken. Electrical issues added to the discomfort. The lights emitted a constant buzzing noise, and only one outlet in the entire room worked. Even the basic comforts were overlooked—like bed sheets that were too small for the bed. What made the experience worse was the lack of hospitality. The staff were largely inattentive and at times borderline rude—not in the charming, brusque Italian way, but more in a dismissive and disinterested manner. For the price tag, I expected at least basic functionality and decent service. Overall, this was a disappointing and overpriced stay. The hotel needs serious renovation and a reevaluation of its star rating. Until then, I would not recommend it.
