Great location and very friendly, smiling staff – definitely the strongest point of this hotel. You can reach any major attraction in Valencia in about 30 minutes or less, whether you’re heading to the beach, the historic center, or the City of Arts and Sciences. That said, a few things could be improved: • Rooms are quite small, and the doors require a hard push (basically slamming) to close properly. It’s not guests being careless – the doors just don’t close easily, so you hear banging constantly in the hallways. • The bathtub/shower combo is uncomfortable and outdated, and there’s often a musty smell in the bathroom. Also, the overhead red heat lamps (like the ones used in spas) aren’t really useful for regular travelers. A proper ventilation fan would make much more sense. • Key cards needed reprogramming almost every day – probably due to being near phones or other devices, but it’s inconvenient nonetheless. • Breakfast and dinner options were the same for all 5 days, with little to no variation. In a city like Valencia, you’d expect a bit more authenticity or at least some rotation in the menu. Overall, a decent hotel with fantastic staff and a very good location, but several small issues reduce the overall comfort. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would – rounding up to 4 mainly thanks to the kindness and professionalism of the team.
Google says this is a 4-star hotel and that is not accurate in my opinion. It is not up to the standards of other NH hotels I have visited (genuinely 4- and 5-star). Currently the rooms are definitely 3-star although they are currently renovating them (June 2025) and they will certainly be very nice when that is done. However our room was also rather small, so whether they can improve this, I don’t know. Hopefully they will also upgrade the air conditioning. Our room was just cool enough to be adequately comfortable while keeping the curtains drawn during the day; it certainly did not cool near to what the thermostat indicated. The best amenity is the 4+ star breakfast. The staff are also helpful and friendly. Even after renovations, it will not be a 4-star location. Regarding the location and logistics, the first-time visitor should ask them for advice navigating to the old city. Getting there by taxi is quick and not expensive; planning some taxi rides may balance out the location, which does have the advantage of being a little calmer than the old city. The neighborhood is nothing to write home about. There is a large bus station/terminal next door. There is a mall (one block away) with a grocery store. Gulliver restaurant on the other block is very good and two blocks away is a nice pasty shop. Otherwise the nearby neighborhood doesn’t have too many restaurants or stores of interest to the traveler/tourist that we could find. For example to get some big bottles of water we went to the grocery store in the mall. The big park across the street might be nice for runners or cyclists, but maybe not so much in summer.
This hotel is around the corner from a major train station, which makes for easy access to shopping and food. It feels like the business district. There's also plenty of free parking in the area. Construction noise started before 9am. Air conditioning was present and barely adequate for an emergency, but nowhere near cool. The thermostat said 15C, but we're in a different hotel tonight and it is much colder at 19C. I think the temperature at NH was closer to 25.
