We absolutely loved our stay at No.45! We stayed for 4 nights 12th to 16th August 2025. Our room was spotless, spacious, and so comfortable. The guest house has a cosy, welcoming feel, and the location couldn’t be better, just a short 5-minute walk into the village. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice! Alison and Les, along with all the staff, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They even emailed us ahead of time with restaurant recommendations so we could book in advance, which was such a thoughtful touch. The guest house also has a couple of lounges, so you’re not confined to your room — which was lovely when our day was cut short due to inclement weather. Their local tips for things to see and do made our trip even better. Overall, everything about our stay was fantastic, and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back — highly recommended! Sally and Chris
Great place to stay, from the warm welcome on arrival to the spotlessly clean room and comfy bed. Breakfast in the conservatory was superb. All in all this place is a gem and a credit to the owners. We will return!
We loved staying at No. 45 Ballater - one of the best B&B experiences in our trip to Scotland. We stayed in the superior garden room which was the most spacious room we had on our travels and beautifully decorated. The room also had the most comfortable bed we stayed in! The room had its own private entrance which was also an added bonus. The bathroom was huge and felt really luxurious with a beautiful tub and rain shower. The hosts Les and Alison were very friendly and warm - gave us great tips on nearby hikes. Their dog Teddy is absolutely adorable! The breakfast is in a beautiful glass conservatory overlooking their gorgeous garden - a true delight. Breakfasts were amazing with a sumptuous spread of baked goods, Alison's incredible homemade granola (do not miss this!) and fresh hot cooked-to-order breakfasts with the best pancakes ever. Also the best coffee I had during my entire trip. We can't wait to come back and stay there again!
