The hotel itself is great. Parking inside a garage under the hotel. Hotel is clean with a good desk to work at and a cool restaurant inside the building. The area is a little sketch, but it is a high traffic area, and if you want to see somewhere outside of Providencia but still in Santiago, this is a really cool spot. Lider within a 10 minutes walk walk, a major mall across the street, and 2 Starbucks within a 10 minutes walk walk walk. The hotel is priced accordingly to it’s location, and I enjoyed my time here.
Excellent breakfast and reasonable rates. Comfortable beds. Conveniently close to major bus stations and a short ride share to downtown attractions and offices. Also easy to take ride share to the airport and get there very fast. Area can be a bit sketchy at night, but since we went to an event at Matucana 100 it was conveniently closer than other places.
The hotel is clean and nice, but I booked this hotel without doing a lot of homework because it is located close to the main train station (5min walk). Boy, was I ever wrong! Apparently, any area west of downtown is not good. Pick pocket and snatching were very common. For example, when we went to buy tickets to ride the subway, we saw about a dozen security guards and half a dozen of police (with machine guns) patrolling the station. I would highly recommend folks stay in the east side of Santiago as it is much nicer and safer.
