The good: Crisp white sheets, comfy beds and pillows. The reception staff are wonderful. Setting and decor beautifully done. Cleanliness perfect. Good nights sleep. Not so good: Was genuinely surprised by the sub-standard breakfast. Cold toast, eggs Benedict tasted bland, meals took ages and arrived at different times with items missing. Hash browns rubbery and reheated from yesterday’s batch maybe? The beautiful: The restaurant is set within the branches of some beautiful trees with sunlight playing through the branches and washing over you as you wait for your toast.

Went for afternoon tea and the service was substandard (40 mins wait time for food when it was relatively empty, wait for tea) so we asked for the discretionary service charge of 12.5% to be taken off. We were met with an extremely rude waiter who got upset at the removal request of this optional service charge. Quite frankly his attitude and tone made me quite happy to not pay the abysmal charge. Why would I pay extra for poor service? Are the staff delusional? If you want average afternoon tea this is the place to be. The sushi was ok and wasn’t a fan of the mochi. Scones were good, so if they just do scones and tea save your money and just do that option.

Extremely disappointed with the service here. For a hotel that calls itself 5‑star, the staff were shockingly rude and dismissive from the moment we arrived. Reception made us feel like an inconvenience rather than guests, and every interaction felt cold and unwelcoming. There was no warmth, no effort to make us feel valued, and the attitude from multiple staff members was consistently curt. A beautiful building can’t make up for service this poor. I wouldn’t stay here again.
